This methodology involves interviewing specific respondents one by one.
This is optimal for interviews with experts such as scholars, industry insiders, or media representatives, or for case studies of specific product users. It is also used heavily in internal environment surveys performed for the purpose of corporate innovation.
Features of In-depth Interviews
- Collection of rich, in-depth informationInterviewers take a longer time for interviews. Therefore, it is possible to collect plentiful in-depth information from each respondent.
- Discovery of novel viewpoints and needsIt can be anticipated that unexpected viewpoints and needs will be discovered by this method.
- Not suitable for mass surveysThe number of samples cannot be so large. If possible, it is better to employ this methodology in combination with quantitative surveys.
- Precise respondent screening and skilled interviewersSuccess in interviews depends on the screening of respondents. Our effective screening and skilled interviewers enable the extraction of precise information from respondents.
